In March 2023, I was presented with the League of Professional Theatre Women’s Ruth Morley Design Award for outstanding work in the field of theatrical design. The presenter was Anna Deavere Smith. This honor was gratifying not only in recognition of my own work, but in having my discipline formally recognized as a theatrical design field.
